It's that time of year again and CCE are delighted to have made it through as finalists in the Commercial Vehicle Bodyshop of the year award. The Bodyshop Magazine will host these prestigious awards at the Birmingham Metropole Hotel on Friday 23rd September. We acknowledge that this is through the hard work and determination that is displayed by the whole team on a daily basis and endorses the good work that the CCE Training Academy is having on the development of our staff and individual personal development. CCE understand that they do have some strong competition in other finalists but are pleased to consistently be recognised as one of the UK's top 4 Commercial Vehicle repairers. We would also like to take this opportunity to wish all the 2011 Bodyshop Magazine award finalist's Good Luck in their categories.
May 2011 Lee Ewbank Passes ATA VDA
Lee Ewbank Passes ATA VDA assessment
Congratulations to Lee our estimator who has recently passed his ATA VDA qualification.
Here Lee tells us a little about the process and what to expect.
“ In December 2010 I took my Part A which is the online test section of the VDA exam, I took this with Pro Assess who are based at Preston. I also took part in their taster day which also prepares you for what to expect from the Part B exam.
Frank the assessor / tutor from Pro Assess took us around a demo car and explained what we would be expected to do as part of the Part B assessment it was at this point I thought I’m never going to pass this. It was a different approach to estimating than I had experienced previously. However what I was able to do then in the following months was apply the new approach to my every day routine so that it became second nature.
I was then booked in with Training 2000 at Blackburn to complete my Part B which I was apprehensive about after hearing various horror stories about how difficult the assessment was.
The training with Training 2000 involved a refresher day on the Monday and then I sat the assessment on the Tuesday. I found the refresher day very valuable and the tutor at the college had an obvious desire for us all to pass first time. He showed this with how thorough he was on the refresher day and made sure that we had a clear understanding of the process.
The following day was judgement day, actually it was not as bad as I had anticipated and I found that providing you followed the correct procedure, took your time and made notes as you went along it wasn’t too bad.
On completion of the assessment we were advised that we would find out our results within 7 – 10 working days. After 8 days I received a phone call from the examiner advising me that I had passed.
I would like to offer a Big Thank You to Fix Auto Rochdale, Training 2000 & their staff and Frank and the team at Pro Assess”

July 2008 Happy First Birthday Keeley
Commercial Contract Engineers would like to say a Happy Birthday to Keeley, born to Sarah Stewart and her partner Lee Broderick on the 21 July 2007.
Sarah said a big thank you to everyone for their kind wishes, adding. “Keeley is our first baby and is a real ray of sunshine. Most importantly, she sleeps brilliantly!”
As the receptionist at CCE, Sarah is one of the main points of contact, being the first person customers and colleagues speak to when they visit the site or call in. She also assists in the accounts and service departments.
Sarah knows how important a good telephone manner is and knows many of CCE’s contacts by their voices. She commented: “I enjoyed my job very much because I like talking to people. I am now looking forward to attending a customer service course and a course in Excel spreadsheets in the near future.
Sarah joined CCE nine years ago, immediately after she left school. She finds CCE a happy place to work – especially the Christmas parties!
